 About Dr. Juawn Jackson


Dr. Juawn A. Jackson earned his executive doctorate in Higher Education from the University of Georgia in December 2023. Previously, he received his Master of Education Degree in Higher Education Leadership from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a certification in Leadership from Georgia College & State University.  

In January 2023, Dr. Jackson was elected at the age of 29 to serve as President of the Bibb County Board of Education, becoming the youngest person in county history to serve in this capacity. Dr.Jackson was first elected to the Board in June 2020, representing portions of the Westside, Rutland, Howard, and Southwest Zones. He previously served two terms as chairman of the Board’s Policies & Rules Committee.

Professionally, Dr. Jackson is a Program Coordinator for Alpha Phi Alpha Educational Talent Search, a federal TRIO program of the United States Department of Education. In this capacity, he oversees the implementation of college and career readiness programming for 680 middle and high school scholars a year in the Macon-Bibb County community, preparing them for postsecondary success, assisting them with career exploration,and advising them through the financial aid process. Additionally, he serves as President of the Georgia Association of Special Programs Personnel, representing 80+ TRIO programs across the state.

Dr. Jackson serves on various boards and committees in the community, including chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. He previously served on the Bibb County Education Foundation Board and the Middle Georgia Regional Commission. He is also the past president of the Macon-area chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is a life member.

Dr. Jackson is a passionate, progressive, and visionary servant leader who strongly advocates for the downtrodden and disenfranchised.
